1. What is a Prehung Door?
A prehung door is a door that comes preassembled in a door frame, including hinges and a doorjamb. This type of door is ready to be installed directly into a rough opening in a wall, making the installation process more straightforward compared to installing a door slab into an existing frame.
2. What should be the rough opening for Prehung door?
There should be a minimum of 2 inches of width in total.
For example: in a 32-inch x 82-inch opening a 30-inch x 80-inch prehung door will fit
For a 34-inch door - you need a 36-inch opening and a height of 82 inches
3. What is the material of the Jamb?
We use a 5/8 Inch Pinewood primed jamb for all prehung. It is ready to paint and stronger than MDF.
4. What is the width of the Jamb?
- We use 4 5/8 inch standard jambs. Which will fit a traditional 2x4 stud wall with drywall on both sides.
- We also provide jambs for a 2x6 stud wall.
